DERMAL FILLERS

Add volume and enhance your features naturally

Dermal fillers are a versatile way to add contour and shape, restore lost volume and naturally enhance your facial features.

Dermal fillers are gel substances that can be injected into the skin to rehydrate the skin. They add volume through a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring substance in our bodies.

Parker Aesthetics uses dermal fillers to help restore lost volume, soften and fill lines, contour the cheeks and jawline, add symmetry and plump the different areas of the face for a fuller look.

How do dermal fillers work?

Dermal fillers are used to combat the loss of volume in our faces as we get older or to change the contour of your face according to your preferred look.

As water retaining fibres break down, we get deeper lines, sagging skin and changes to our face, lips, cheeks and jaw volume. When injected into the skin, dermal fillers maintain their volume and shape through their high water content. They are non-invasive compared to other surgical options and are biocompatible, which means they break down over time while not harming our tissues.

Areas treated by dermal fillers

Dermal fillers can reliably treat wrinkles at a deeper level than other methods. Dermal filler lasts longer and is used to support the structure beneath the skin. Best results come when used with anti-wrinkle injections.

Dermal fillers can also be used to create a contouring, rejuvenated or more youthful appearance by lifting sagging skin and adding volume.

These areas are commonly treated with dermal fillers:

  • Lip enhancement – to add volume, contour, symmetry and definition

  • Lip lines – reduce superficial to deep lines around the face including nasolabial folds and marionette lines

  • Cheeks – restore lost volume in cheeks and temples, smooth contours and improve the jowl area

  • Chin and jaw – add volume to the chin and jawline to increase definition

  • Face – non-surgical facelift for maximum results for non-surgical and non-invasive treatment

Deeper injections to maintain the structure and support beneath these lines increases the longevity of the filler, as does the addition of wrinkle relaxing injections.

What does dermal filler treatment involve? +

Dr Chiara Parker and Dr Neil Parker meet every new client for a full assessment before any treatment starts. We take time to get to know you before we can design a treatment plan to achieve the most natural look that addresses your areas of concern. Your appointment may include:

  • Full skin and facial assessment to discuss areas of concerns
  • Clinical photography to monitor progress and changes to skin
  • Opportunity to ask questions and discuss your expectations for treatment
  • A detailed discussion of the procedure including consent

What to expect at your dermal filler procedure +

Your dermal filler treatment will be conducted by our qualified doctors who have extensive medical training and are highly experienced in cosmetic injecting procedures.

  • A small volume of gel-like fluid is injected into target area using fine needles or cannulas
  • Our doctors are gentle, however, dermal fillers do involve some discomfort
  • Local anaesthetic in the filler substance reduces the discomfort
  • A prescription numbing cream is also applied to decrease pain sensation
  • Different techniques are used to disperse the filler in a smooth and uniform way
  • Treatment generally takes about 30 minutes or longer if multiple areas are treated

When will I see results? +

You will see results immediately after your treatment. There may be some swelling for 1 to 2 days following treatment and it may take to 3 to 4 weeks for the dermal filler to fully stabilise and settle into the skin. We recommend a follow up consultation after one month to check the results and work out the next steps of your treatment.

How long do results last? +

The benefits of dermal fillers generally last between 6-12 months depending on your treatment area. Dermal fillers maintain their volume and shape through their high water content and break down over time. You may start to notice the reduced effect of facial contouring or lines and folds reappearing long before anyone else.

What happens after my treatment? +

After your injection with dermal fillers, you may have swelling, and redness at the injection points and often bruising associated with some of the more vascular areas treated. We will provide full aftercare instructions at your treatment. Some general precautions to reduce the risks of side effects and the most from your treatment include:
